5 Facebook Ads Your Medspa Needs

As a premier medical spa, you have to continually educate, inspire, and engage your current and potential patients. While interest and awareness about medspas have increased significantly over the last several years, there is still a lot of room for growth.

One of the biggest pieces of advice we give our clients is to hang out where your patients are. So, where do you think your patients go to research their top picks for medspas? The Internet.

If your patients are researching online, it won't be long before they end up on Facebook. Thanks to the prevalence of Facebook, your practice has an opportunity to utilize the platform's ads to your advantage. In today’s blog post, we are going to dig into a variety of Facebook ad types with the goal of increasing website traffic and showcasing your services. We will also give you a few tips on how to make these ads work specifically for your practice.

As with all inbound marketing tactics, before you jump into Facebook ads, we highly suggest that you know what your goal is. Depending on your goal, you will choose different Facebook ads. AdEspresso created a fantastic ebook called “The Beginner’s Guide to Facebook Advertising.” We will reference this ebook throughout the blog post.

Goal: Increase Website Traffic

According to AdEspresso, if your goal is to get more people to your website, the best Facebook ads to use are the Domain Ad and the Page Post Link. As you think about increasing your list of patients, raising awareness about your practice, turning prospects into leads, and getting people to visit your website is vital.

Your website is where you can provide the in-depth information people are looking for. If you have structured your website well, you can lead visitors through your site and help them get to the place where they are ready to contact you. Ideally, you will have planned out your main call to action and decided whether your main goal is for people to set up a meeting, buy a specific product/service, join your practice’s email list, or download a freebie.

Domain Ad:

The Facebook Domain Ad is quite simple and can only be used on desktop displays due to the fact that it must be placed in the right column (not available on mobile).

AdEspresso states that while this ad isn’t the best in terms of its click-through rate (CTR), it is often much cheaper than other Facebook ad options. If your medical spa is looking to dip your toe in the water of Facebook advertising, this is a great place to start. However, as always, we encourage you to give your ad enough time to make an impact!

This ad includes:
  • Title
  • Short description
  • URL to be displayed
  • Small picture

Page Post Link:

If you’re looking for a reliable and well-performing ad, you’ve come to the right place. AdEspresso claims this is one of the most popular Facebook ads, and for good reason.

Designed to promote your website, the Page Post Link Ad (also known as the Newsfeed Ad) uses a much larger photo than other ads and is posted directly within the Newsfeed. You can still choose to have this ad appear in the right column, and it is specifically designed to be effective on mobile.

While this ad will cost a bit more than the Domain Ad, it is well worth it if your focus is results. If your medspa wants to make a splash on Facebook and create a spike in website visitors, we encourage you to give this ad a try. Just make sure that you use a high-quality, engaging photo and write a compelling caption!

This ad includes:
  • Title
  • Post text
  • Large photo
  • Link description
  • URL to be displayed

Goal: Showcase Your Services & Increase Leads

Your medspa most likely offers a wide range of services to patients. One of the challenges with social media is the limited time you have to make a big impact. If you want to raise awareness and quickly capture someone’s interest in one of your services, you have to find a way to inform them of what you offer!

Unlike the previous ads we talked about, the following will allow you to capture potential client information directly within Facebook. According to AdEspresso, this improves your patient’s experience and has the potential to drastically decrease the amount of time and money it takes to capture a lead.

Multi-product (Carousel):

Instead of showcasing one service at a time, get more bang for your buck and combine a variety of services into one ad. Want to feature treatments for wrinkles, sunspots, and loss of facial volume, but aren’t sure which one to focus on? Feature them all! The beauty of the Carousel Ad is that it doesn’t limit you to focus on one service or one particular potential patient. In fact, you get an individual photo, link, and title for each service you want to showcase!

You can use this ad in the standard Newsfeed as well as on mobile. If you want to see which photo and ad type resonate most with potential patients, this is a great ad to try!

This ad includes:
  • Post description
  • 5 services with links
  • 5 photos

Lead Ads:

Do you simply need to get more leads to jumpstart the growth of your medspa? Or are you trying to boost your email list? Well, it’s no wonder that Lead Ads are calling your name!

Without leaving Facebook, this ad enables visitors to fill out a simple form to gain access to your newsletter, freebies, special deals, etc. Beyond that, you can actually use this ad to encourage people to book an appointment! As with most standard ads, this ad can be used in the Newsfeed and on mobile.

This ad includes:
  • Title
  • Post description
  • Photo
  • Call to action button
  • Pre-populated forms

Canvas:

One of the newest Facebook mobile ad options is Canvas. As a full-screen ad, the goal is to help brands bring their products and services to life. As you imagine how you want to promote your medspa, think about the lifestyle your ideal patients desire. You can use this ad to create a story or showcase your unique patient experience.

According to Instapage, “At first glance, a Canvas ad could be mistaken for a regular news feed ad. However, when clicked, it opens up to cover the entire mobile screen. Combining videos, photos, GIFs, and call-to-action buttons, it delivers what some call a 'microsite-like experience' that allows people to click, scroll, swipe, and tap to engage with brands right on the Facebook platform.”

This ad includes:
  • Title
  • Post description
  • Videos
  • Images
  • Call to action buttons
  • Scrolling, zooming, and tilting capability

While there seems to be an endless amount of options when it comes to Facebook ads, these are the core five that will serve you well as you dig into Facebook advertising for your medspa. Always remember to keep your goal and audience in mind. What ad will best position you to reach your goals and at the same time, serve your patients well?

Don’t forget that the beauty of Facebook ads is that they are relatively inexpensive, they are easy to tweak and stop, and you have the flexibility to try out a variety of ad types.
